Travelling Here

Paris is a (relatively) easy destination to fly to, as flights go there from almost anywhere you can think of. If you'd like to save money on your travels, you might want to consider taking a connection flight. While it might take a bit more time to arrive, you are sure to save quite a bit. We highly recommend you extend your stay in Paris so you'll be able to explore everything the City of Lights has to offer. One way or another, we ask that you keep Saturday (August 20) open to join in on the wedding festivities.

Flying to Paris

Most international flights arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle, 17 miles north of the city, including British Airways, EasyJet, Air France and El-Al. Low cost airlines, including Transavia, usually arrive at Paris Orly Airport, which is an international airport located partially in Orly and partially in Villeneuve-le-Roi, south of Paris.

If you have problems finding the best flight, or you need assistance in making these bookings, please reach out to Yam (yambloom@gmail.com) and he will make sure to find you the cheapest available flight… even if you're flying from Mars!

Getting to Paris (city centre)

From Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle

Most of you are likely to land at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle International Airport (CDG). CDG is connected to Paris by train, bus, car, taxi or shuttle. The public transportation methods consist of RER regional trains, RoissyBus, and Noctilien night buses, all operated by RATP, the Paris regional public transit authority. These are the least expensive transportation options between Paris and CDG airport.
The cheapest way to travel from CDG to central Paris would be by purchasing a Paris Metro Pass for 6 Zones and take the RER train directly. The RER takes approximately 40 minutes to reach central Paris.  Please note, you may have to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs when you reach your station (elevators are limited to certain stations in Paris, which may be some distance from where you want to be).

Rental car transportation through many major agencies is available directly in CDG Terminals 1 and 2, but be aware that traffic congestion and limited parking is common within central Paris. Taxis are available throughout Terminals 1 and 2. The average taxi fare will be approximately 40-50€, depending on the destination within Paris. The average journey time by road is 60 minutes.

From Orly Airport

Orly Airport (ORY) is connected to Paris by two RER lines and two buses. If you take the RER B, you will have a chance to board the state-of-the-art automatic shuttle called Orlyval (your kids will love sitting in the front, pretending to be driving it!). Taxi and car rentals are also available at Orly. Approximate taxi rate is 35€.

For those of you who know us best, you know we've explored the cheapest way to get to Paris from ORY ! Although not always mentioned at the information desk, we’ve found the cheapest way to get to central Paris for the cost of one tram and 1 metro ticket (totaled in less than 4€). So if you're arriving at Orly Sud terminal look for the direction sign T7 (tramway 7). You can find this if you go downstairs from inside the terminal building. The T7 tram will take you to metro stop Villejuif-Louis Aragon (metro line 7) with frequent metro departures to the heart of Paris (Chatelet-Les Halles)

Bienvenue a Paris!
